Vacation Workout Tips and Tricks You may be planning your next vacation, work trip, road trip, or some type of travel destination. Are you planning your workouts as well?

The common question I receive while travelling each year is, how do I workout while travelling? In order to be successful on the road, you need to prepare prior. Below are two of my top tips to do this:

1.    Join a fitness challenge: This keeps you motivated and accountable to not only yourself, but one or more people. As well, it helps you maintain reaching your goals while away. While I travel to Africa each year, I host a fitness challenge for our community. Not only does our community love the challenge, but it keeps me motivated as well with you.

2.    Pack two water bottles: I usually pack two Nalgene bottles with me everywhere I travel. They come in handy to pack my toiletries inside to save space while I am traveling. Then, when I am ready to workout, I simply fill them full of water. It is not a ton of weight, but it certainly helps. They are awesome for doing lateral raises, mid rows, rear delt fly’s etc. Complete higher repetitions if you are used to heavier weights.

Working out while travelling is never the same as when you are home, but these two tips will keep you on track. Then, when you do return home to heavier weights again, you will not be in dyer pain. I’ve been doing this for years and it works like a charm.

This is also a great alternative for home workouts if you don’t have any weights. Every little bit does make a difference.

Peanut Butter Replacement Option Do you eat a lot of peanut butter but notice it can be quite high in calories?  There is a replacement option and I highly recommend it.

PB2 is a great replacement choice for traditional peanut butter with a lot less calories (about 85% less), and is great on anything you usually like to put peanut butter on.

What is it?
Essentially, it is crushed up peanuts with the excess oil removed, dried up and ground up into a power form.

How do you use it?
Simply add a little water to it and you can use it like a regular spreadable peanut butter.  I use it as straight powder in my smoothies. By adding 1-2 tablespoons, my smoothies have a nice peanut butter flavor. It is also great for adding to your baking such as protein squares.  Or in your other breakfast choices such as quinoa or oatmeal. I also use this for hiking, and have taken it on my own recent trips.  Add a little bit of water, and you’ve got a great source of protein for energy.

Where can you find this product?
I choose to purchase PB2 on  You can also find it at your local health food stores.

If you like peanut butter, this is an awesome choice that saves you a few calories and it tastes really good!
